HoB - Character Classes and Skills
the Barbarian
Barbarian warriors are a kind of referential design for our Hoard of Bugtraction modification. At least regarding dealt damage per skill.
Contrary to other skills, especially casted spells, Barbarian's attacks are not nerfed. Quite on the contrary some attacks even gain an additional synergy bonus you may evolve.
If you like to evolve it depends on your gear. Keep in mind that all known magically enhanced weapons are toned down in terms of raw damage. So don't compare potential damage of a highly equipped Barbarian in unmodified Diablo II.
We've tried to implement some sensible synergies.
It's possible to add negative effects to Cries similar to Necromancer's curses, but so far this doesn't fit the Barbarian warrior of our imagination.
general changes
- all barbarian specific helmets should be able to spawn regularly with boni to Combat Skills
Masteries
- all Weapon Masteries gain a bonus of dexterity/25 percent to do a critical hit, Throwing Mastery even gains a dexterity/10 percent bonus
- Increased Stamina increases stamina only by 10% eack skill level; it gains a synergy of additional 5% via each hard point in in Natural Resistance; a truly hidden bonus is +2 replenish life per each point
- Increased Speed gains a synergy of 1% via each hard point in Howl
- Iron Skin gains a defense synergy of 5% via each hard point in Concentrate
- Natural Resistance's effect is splitted in resistance to Fire and Lightning (min 0%, max 70%) on the one hand and resistance to Cold and Poison (min 5%, max 80%) on the other hand;
a truly hidden bonus is additional +2 replenish life per each point in Inreased Stamina
Combat Skills
- Leap gains a hidden bonus to leaping range and knockback distance from Leap Attack
- Double Swing gains a bonus of one point to minimum damage per each hard point in Frenzy
- Double Throw gains a damage synergy from Frenzy
- Leap Attack gains a hidden damage bonus of dexterity/4 percent
- Concentrate gains hidden boni to Attack Rating and damage of 1% per Status Point in energy
- Frenzy gains a hidden duration bonus from maximum stamina (maxstamina/10 Frames)
- Whirlwind gains a damage synergy of 10% per each hard point in Shout
- Berserk gains an additional damage synergy from Taunt; it also gains a hidden bonus of 1% physical resistance (aka damage reduce) per each hard point in Shout
War Cries
- Howl gains a hidden bonus to fleeing enemy's movement velocity; mana cost increases with skill level
- Find Potion gains a synergy of 1% per each hard point in Find Item; increased chance of finding a Mana Potion from 30 to 35
- Taunt gains a synergy of 1% per each hard point in Grim Ward; taunted monsters gain increased movement velocity; mana cost increases with skill level
- Shout gains a synergy of 5% per each hard point in Iron Skin; replaced duration synergy from Battle Orders with Iron Skin, duration gains a hidden bonus of 1% per Status Point in energy; mana cost increases with skill level
- Find Item gains a synergy of 2% per each hard point in Find Potion; increased chance of finding Magicals from 5 to 10%
- Battle Cry decreases twice as much defense and damage of enemy; duration gains a hidden bonus of 1% per Status Point in energy; mana cost increases with skill level
- Battle Orders gains a hidden bonus of energy/10 to maximum mana and vitality/10 to maximum life; duration gains a hidden bonus of 1% per Status Point in energy; mana cost increases with skill level
- Grim Ward gains a radius synergy of 1 and a effect duration synergy of 10 Frames per each hard point in Howl; decreased totem's life span from 1000 Frames (40s) to 750 Frames (30s), added an additional life span bonus of 5 Frames per Status Point in energy
- War Cry gains improved damage; mana cost increases with skill level
- Battle Commands gains a hidden duration bonus of 1% per Status Point in energy; mana cost increases with skill level
