HoB - Character Classes and Skills

the Sorceress

There's quite a bunch of synergy changes in Sorceress' skill tree. Another major change is done to the three Masteries, they all work similarly now.

Lightning Skills

  • Charged Bolt gains an added missile synergy of one missile per four hard points in Chain Lightning.
  • Telekinesis suffers reduced range to 10, but gains an added range synergy of 0.16yd per each hard point in Teleport.
  • Static Field suffers halfed radius, but gains an added radius synergy from Nova (0.3yd per each hard point). Mana cost is increased, and it needs more mana per level. There's now a Cast Delay of 15 frames.
  • Lightning's synergy factor is decreased to 5%. Nova synergy is replaced with Thunder Storm.
  • Nova gains an added damage synergy of 5% per each hard point in Thunder Storm and Static Field.
  • Chain Lightning's Nova damage synergy is removed.
  • Teleport now has increased start mana cost. It is restricted in some maps, it won't work far underground or in vicinity of Prime Evils!
  • Thunderstorm's overall native damage is toned down. It now gains a damage synergy of 5% per each hard point in Nova and Blizzard (sic!).
  • Energy Shield's maximum absorb is decreased to 75; but a synergy of 1% additional absorb per each hard point in Warmth is added.
  • Lightning Mastery's starting damage bonus is decreased to 35%; bonus per level decreased to 8%. An elemental piercing effect of 1/50 of damage increase value is added.

Fire Skills

  • Fire Bolt's synergy factor is decreased to 10%.
  • Warmth recieves straight elemental absorb of 1 point per each hard point in elemental Mastery, respectively; this only works if Warmth's native skill level is beyond 15.
  • Inferno's damage synergy is changed to 8%. Warmth synergy is replaced with Fire Ball and Fire Bolt. Damage is slightly decreased in high levels.
  • Blaze now gains a damage synergy of 15% per each hard point in Meteor and Inferno. Also a duration synergy of 15 frames per each hard point in Fire Wall is added.
  • Fire Ball's synergy factor is decreased to 8%. Explosion radius is slightly improved.
  • Fire Wall's native overall damage is toned down. A damage synergy of 5% per each hard point in Blaze is added. The Cast Delay of 45 frames may be reduced by one frame per each hard point in Inferno.
  • Enchant's bonus damage is toned down.
  • Meteor's native overall damage is toned down. Inferno damage synergy replaced with Blaze, but Inferno gives a small bonus to Area of Effect. The Cast Delay of 45 frames also may be reduced by one frame per each hard point in Inferno.
  • Hydra's Cast Delay of 35 frames may be reduced by one frame per each hard point in Inferno.
  • Fire Mastery's starting damage bonus is decreased to 20%; bonus per level is decreased to 5%. An elemental piercing effect of 1/50 of damage increase value is added.

Cold Skills

  • Ice Bolt's damage synergy from Frozen Orb and Frost Nova is changed to a chill duration synergy.
  • Frozen Armor's freeze synergy from both Chilling and Shiver Armor is changed to defense synergy (5%def per each hard point). Freeze synergies now come from Frost Nova and Frozen Orb (10s per each hard point). Frozen Armor now triggers freeze also if hit by missile.
  • Frost Nova now gains increased Blizzard's damage synergy of 15%. Frozen Orb now gives a synergy to freeze duration, in addition there's also the Glacial Spike freeze duration synergy (5% per each hard point).
  • Ice Blast's Frozen Orb damage synergy is changed to freeze duration; damage synergy is decreased to 5%.
  • Shiver Armor gains a Chilling and Shiver Armor defense synergy (6% per each hard point). Shiver Armor now triggers also if hit by missile. It gets a chill duration synergy of 5% per each hard point in Frost Nova and Frozen Orb. Damage synergy also is changed to Frost Nova and Blizzard. Damage synergy factor is decreased to 7%.
  • Glacial Spike's Frozen Orb damage synergy is changed to a freeze length synergy. Blizzard synergy is removed.
  • Blizzard's Glacial Spike damage synergy is changed to a chilling synergy. Native overall damage is toned down. The Cast Delay of 50 frames may be reduced by one frame per each hard point in Thunder Storm.
  • Chilling Armor gains Frozen and Shiver Armor defense synergy (5% per each hard point). Chilling Armor now triggers also if damaged in melee. It gets a chill duration synergy of 5% per each hard point in Frost Nova and Frozen Orb. Ice Bolt and Ice Blast give a damage synergy of 5% per each hard point.
  • Frozen Orb's native overall damage is toned down. It now gains an Ice Blast damage synergy and a Glacial Spike chill duration synergy. The Cast Delay of 35 frames may be reduced by one frame per each hard point in Frost Nova.
  • Cold Mastery now works similar to Fire and Lightning Mastery; the starting damage bonus is 20%; bonus per level is 5%. An elemental piercing effect of 1/50 of damage increase value is added.
